Boundless Blackjack Game Rules

Introduction

Experience classic Blackjack with a modern twist, where you are part of a massive shared game but always in control of your own fate. You play your own hand against the dealer, with your own bets and choices, while countless other players are doing the same alongside you.

Gameplay

Setup

Cards

  • The game uses eight standard 52-card decks (without jokers) in a card shoe.
  • Card values are:
    • Ace = 1 or 11
    • 2 to 10 = face value
    • Jack, Queen and King = 10
  • Suits (diamonds ♦, clubs ♣, hearts , spades ♠) are not considered except for the side bets.

Shuffling

  • When the “cut” card is drawn, it signals the final round of the current shoe. 
  • After the final round, the decks are reshuffled. 
  • Before gameplay resumes, the dealer draws and reveals the first card from the shoe, and uses its value (Ace = 1; 2 to 10 = face value; J/Q/K = 10) to burn (discard) the same number of cards from the shoe face down.

Playing a Round

PhaseDescription
1. Betting
  • The player can place a main bet (on the seat) or any available side bets.
  • A player who has placed a main bet is referred as a seated player hereafter.
  • Side bets can be placed without placing a main bet.
2. Initial Dealing
  • The dealer deals the first card face up to the player, then one card face up to themselves.
  • The dealer then deals the second card face up to the player, and one face down for themselves.
  • Now the player and the dealer receive their initial hands, with the initial score of their hands displayed.
3. DecisionSeated players are prompted to take actions for their hand(s): Hit, Stand, Surrender, Double Down, or Split. (see Seated Player’s Action).
4. ResultThe dealer reveals the second card in their hand and deals additional cards if necessary (see Dealer’s Action), until the round result can be determined (see Round Result).

Note

A round concludes immediately with no additional cards dealt if:

  • The dealer gets a natural Blackjack (hereafter “BJ”) in the initial hand (see Calculating the Score).

Calculating the Score

  • The score of a hand is the sum of its card values. Ace is 1 or 11 depending on the favorable result. Examples:
    • A hand with ♠A (= 11) and 9 has a score of 20.
    • A hand with ♠A (= 1), 9 and ♣5 has a score of 15.
  • A hand is a bust when exceeding 21 points.
  • If the initial hand (the first two cards) includes an Ace and a 10-value card, for example, an Ace and a ♠J, it is referred to as a natural Blackjack (“BJ”), which is the strongest hand in the game.
  • A split hand (see Seated Player’s Action) with an Ace and a 10-value card is counted as non-Blackjack 21 points; in other words, a split hand can never qualify and win as a “BJ”.

Seated Player’s Action

A seated player has the following options for their hand(s) during the decision phase:

Hit
  • Receive 1 extra card from the dealer to add to the hand.
  • A seated player can hit multiple times until one of the following occurs:
    • The hand reaches 21 points.
    • The seated player chooses to stand.
    • The hand becomes a bust (exceeding 21 points).
    • The seated player surrenders.
Stand
  • Stop receiving cards and performing further actions for the hand.
  • Hand automatically stands after one of the following occurs:
    • The hand reaches 21 points (including “BJ”).
    • Actions for Double Down, Split Aces or a Split followed by a Double Down have been completed.
Surrender
  • Forfeit the hand in this round and lose half of the seat bet.
  • Only available for the initial hand prior to any actions taken, and when the dealer’s 1st card is not an Ace or a 10-value card.
Double Down
  • Double the hand bet, and the hand will receive only 1 extra card after doubling down.
  • The option is available only with sufficient balance.
  • Can be used on the initial hand or split hands, except for split Aces.
  • If the balance becomes insufficient when action is executed, the hand will:
    • Hit if the score is 11 or less.
    • Stand if the score is above 11.
Split
  • Split the initial hand into two separate hands if it contains a pair of the same value. The extra hand takes the same amount as the seat bet.
  • Each split hand can hit as many times as desired, except for:
    • Split Aces: Each hand receives only 1 extra card.
    • Split followed by Double Down: The hand receives only 1 extra card.
  • The player cannot split the split hands again.
  • A split hand with an Ace and a 10-value card counts as 21 points, not a “BJ” (and does not qualify for a “BJ” win).
  • The option is available only with sufficient balance.
  • If the balance becomes insufficient when action is executed, the hand will:
    • Hit if the score is 11 or less.
    • Stand if the score is above 11.
Insurance
  • Purchase an insurance (a special bet type) worth half of the seat bet when the dealer’s 1st card is an Ace, to lower the risk of losing to the dealer’s “BJ”.
  • The seated player can purchase insurance despite already having a “BJ” hand.
  • The insurance has a payout of 2:1:
    • The bet wins if the dealer has a “BJ”.
    • The bet loses if the dealer does not have a “BJ”, regardless of the round’s final result.
  • The option is available only with sufficient balance.

Note

If a disconnection occurs, or no action is received from the seated player during the game, the system will automatically finish the round for the player. If the player’s hand score is less than or equal to 11, the system will automatically hit until the score exceeds 11. Aces will count as 11 unless it would result in the hand going bust. If the player’s score is greater than 11, the system will complete the player’s hand by choosing Stand.

Dealer’s Action

The dealer takes the following course for the dealer’s hand:

  • The dealer always hits when the dealer’s hand has 16 points or less.
  • The dealer always stands when the dealer’s hand reaches 17 points or above, including a soft 17 (an Ace (11) and a 6-value card).

Round Result

Seated players win or lose depending on how well their hands play against the dealer’s:

If the dealer’s hand is a “BJ”:
  • Players lose without “BJ”.
  • Players with a “BJ” will result in a Push (tie).
WinThe player’s hand is not a bust and has a higher score over the dealer’s, or the dealer’s hand is a bust (non-”BJ” win).
LoseThe player loses when:
  • The player’s hand is a bust.
  • Both the player’s and the dealer’s hands are not a bust, and the player’s hand has a lower score than the dealer’s.
Push (Tie)Both the player’s and the dealer’s hands are not a bust and have the same score. The player’s bet is returned.

Disconnection Policy

If a player is disconnected from a game round, the round will continue until completion. All confirmed bets remain valid and will be settled as the round concludes. The player can review the bet details in the “Bet Record”.

Error Handling

In the event of an unexpected issue in the game, system or procedure, the game round will be temporarily paused while the dealer informs the supervisor. If the issue can be resolved quickly, the round will resume and continue as usual. If an immediate resolution is not possible, the round will be cancelled, and all bets will be refunded.

The maximum RTP of the game is 99.46%.
